An ultra-low-mileage 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning, one of the most desirable performance trucks of the ‘90s, is set to find a new home as it crosses the virtual auction block at no reserve on Bring a Trailer. With just 150 miles on the odometer, this first-year Lightning is essentially a time capsule, making it one of the finest examples of Ford’s original SVT-tuned sport truck in existence.

This Bright Red example is #1,649 of 5,276 built for 1993, the inaugural year of the SVT Lightning program. Designed as Ford’s answer to Chevrolet’s high-performance 454 SS pickup, the Lightning was developed by Ford’s Special Vehicle Team (SVT) to deliver sports-car-like handling in a full-size truck. Its 5.8-liter Windsor V8—fitted with GT40 cylinder heads—produces 240 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 4.10:1 axle ratio.

The truck rides on 17-inch five-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in new Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, and features SVT-specific lowered suspension, handling upgrades, and body-color trim pieces. Bright Red paint with SVT Lightning graphics ensures it looks every bit the part of a muscle truck, while a sliding rear window, fog lights, and a tubular rear bumper add functional touches. The tailgate and rear bumper were recently refinished to correct minor fading.

Inside, the Dark Charcoal cloth bucket seats are embroidered with Lightning logos, separated by a center console with cupholders. A cassette stereo, air conditioning, and cruise control reflect the truck’s blend of performance and comfort. The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, tachometer, and full complement of gauges.

Accompanied by its SVT certificate, Deluxe Marti Report, original literature, and a clean Carfax, this barely-driven Lightning represents a rare opportunity for collectors to secure one of Ford’s most iconic performance trucks in near-showroom condition.
