1968 Ford Mustang Has Only 1,031 Miles On It

We’re floored seeing this beautiful 1968 Ford Mustang with a mere 1,031 original miles showing on the odometer. Had you asked us, we would’ve guessed it was at least fairly recently restored. Instead, the pony car is all original, making it one hell of a time capsule on wheels.

Check out this 1968 Mercury Cougar Fastback.

The woman who bought it, as her relatives who now own the thing say, only drove it to work for a month before garaging the thing. She purchased it to show up her mom’s new Maverick, but after going only several hundred miles we guess that motivation wore off quickly.

Found in Ohio by Dennis Collins, the man who’s been hunting down classic Mustangs since he was a teenager, even he was floored at this car. As he correctly noted, it might be one of the lowest mileage ’68 Mustangs in existence, maybe even the lowest mileage example.

Collins has purchased all kinds of classic Mustangs, Jeeps, Corvettes, Porsches, etc. over the years that are in really rough shape. Some are so rough, it would take a miracle to put them back together. His restoration team might use the parts off the completely trashed examples, but they often make what looks like junk shine again.

But this car needs no work. The thing is just as it was when it was sitting on the dealership lot back in the 60s. It’s a miracle not only that the original owner drove it so little but that her relatives who bought it off her later also had the discipline to keep from racking up more miles.

They obviously have been very careful with the pony car. In the footage taken for Dennis Collins’ YouTube channel, we don’t see any blemishes. Maybe there are some, but you’d have to look real close to find them.

Watch Dennis Collins snag this unbelievable Mustang here.
