'And Just Like That' Finally Gave Us a 'Sex and the City'-Worthy Romance

For six seasons, viewers of Sex and the City followed Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha as they dated their way through New York. And while they all found love at the end, much of the fun of the show was about getting excited with new love interests and sitting on the edge of our seats waiting to see how their story unfolds.
In And Just Like That, relationships are a bit different. While Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is happily married to Harry (Evan Handler), Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) is in a hard patch with Aidan (John Corbett), and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) has been a little too unlucky with love since leaving her ex Steve (Evan Handler).

After some previous flirty exchanges between Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Carrie’s gardener Adam (Logan Marshall-Green), their chemistry came to life.
After inviting himself to Charlotte’s birthday party, Seema (who’s wearing a Louis Vuitton eye patch after a subpar eyelash extension) and Adam are giddy chatting with one another.

Then, Adam reveals he’s single. “Actually, there is no more yoga lady,” he tells Seema. “I ended things with her when I smelled your perfume that first time.” Talk about a bold move!
Hearing the sudden interest, Seema, who even hired a matchmaker to find her a boyfriend earlier in the season, is immediately taken aback. “Oh,” she says. “I’m just gonna grab some fresh drinks.”

And as Carrie is convincing her to stay, Adam pulls out the ultimate move: he serenades her with Miranda’s karaoke machine. “Ok, this goes out to the girl who has the most beautiful eye I’ve ever seen,” he jokes, before doing an impressive performance of “Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes.
Watching him show his affection (and singing chops!) like that, Seema is immediately smitten, and throws all her caution out the window. The scene then cuts to them making out in a cab. “Maybe a taxi can be sexy,” she says.
For the first time in the series, a romance is finally fulfilling an aspect of SATC: being able to root and cheer for charming newcomers. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
