In Thursday’s episode, Carrie’s hunky landscaper Adam continued his flirtation with Carrie’s friend Seema, spotting a stray eyelash on her face and asking her to make a wish. Carrie sensed a vibe (“Sure felt like something”), but Seema shrugged it off, saying he has a yogi girlfriend. Later, at Charlotte’s birthday party, though, Adam kept flirting with Seema while she was sporting an eye patch —due to a disastrous eyelash appointment —and he told her he’s no longer with the yogi girlfriend: “I ended things with her when I smelled your perfume for the first time.” Whoa!

And Just Like That Adam Season 3 Episode 7

Adam ended up serenading Seema with a karaoke version of “Bette Davis Eyes” (or is that “Eye”?), and they ended up making out in a cab together, despite Seema’s reservations about that mode of transportation. (“Maybe a cab can be sexy,” she admitted.) So that means Adam is definitely off the table for Carrie —and may be a love match for the perpetually single Seema, even though she’s doing her best to resist him. After years of only dating very wealthy and polished men, maybe a dirt-stained landscaper is exactly what she needed all along?

As for Carrie’s other new gentleman friend Duncan Reeves, we can’t rule him out as a romantic partner just yet. In fact, he heaped praise on the early draft of her novel she had him read, after she gushed about an early draft of the Margaret Thatcher biography he’s working on. They chatted and laughed together at Charlotte’s party, too — and Miranda noticed. But when she mentioned it to Carrie the next morning, Carrie snapped at her, reminding her: “Miranda, I’m in a relationship.” She seemed like she was having fun, Miranda replied, adding that “sometimes it seems like you’re working so hard with Aidan.” Ouch.

And Just Like That Duncan Season 3 Episode 7

An irritated Carrie pointed out that her relationship with Aidan has been going on for 20 years now, and “it’s complicated right now.” But then Miranda reminded her of the first line of her new novel: “The woman wondered what she had gotten herself into.” And it does seem that with all the complications with Aidan’s family, Carrie might well be wondering what she’s gotten herself into. Carrie certainly seems to have a creative kinship with Duncan —but could that develop into a romantic spark as well? That particular chapter, dear readers, has yet to be written.

What do we think: Is Duncan a better match for Carrie than Aidan is? And will Adam and Seema’s fling turn into something more? Hit the comments to give us your thoughts!
