Blues duo to play at White Sands during full moon

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Out Cats, a blues duo from Las Cruces, will be the performers during White Sands National Park’s July full moon event.

The concert will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10.

The Out Cats are a blues duo from Las Cruces that play a wide variety of blues, from Robert Johnson through Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf, up to the Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, and Jeff Beck, the national park said in a news release.

The concert will be held in the park’s natural outdoor amphitheater.

The program is free, butparkentrance fees will apply.

To get to the amphitheater, drive approximately 6 miles beyond the fee station to an intersection just after the Backcountry Camping Trailparking lot. Take a right at that intersection and then the second left. Drive approximately 1 mile further and the amphitheater will be on the right side. Theparking lot will open at 7 p.m.

Seating is not provided at the amphitheater. You are encouraged to set up on the surrounding dunes and bring camp chairs, blankets, and coolers with food and drinks. Visitors are reminded to keepWhiteSandsbeautiful by packing out all your trash.

This is the second of four full moon eventsWhiteSandsis hosting this year which will feature the cultural legacy of Southern New Mexico and the rich natural resources ofWhiteSands, the national park said.
