David Corenswet Reveals Which MCU Character He Auditioned For Before Superman

Before David Corenswet was leading the DC Universe as Superman, the actor revealed he had actually auditioned for a role in the MCU.

In a recent video for BuzzFeed that saw the main cast of Superman and James Gunn answering questions while playing with puppies, Corenswet revealed he had actually auditioned for James Gunn, for his 2023 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

“Adam Warlock, in [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3],” said Corenswet, revealing who he auditioned to play. “I think that was my first MCU audition.”

The role of Adam Warlock would eventually go to Will Poulter. Although Corenswet missed out on his chance to get into the MCU, he is now the de facto face of the new DCU, and will likely portray Superman in a variety of films for DC Studios in the future.
