Every time I hear a Dave Matthews Band song, I'm transported straight back to 1994-1995 to my senior year of high school. Their iconic album, "Under the Table and Dreaming," was basically the anthem of that time period for me, and I can still recite all of the lyrics to every single tune.
I've had the pleasure of seeing the band perform in concert a few times, and anyone who has gone to a recent show will tell you that hearing their greatest '90s hits is something that's few and far between.

At any rate, most fans don't get the opportunity to hear their biggest songs live, which is why those who were at the July 8 show in Toronto got a huge surprise when they kicked off their set list with a fan-favorite: "Ants Marching."
Oh, how I would've loved to hear this one!
One person who watched the clip commented, "Rare opener! Very cool. Usually toward the end of his sets," to which the creator replied, "Or not in the set at all. I saw DMB five times prior to last night and had yet to hear it live. What a treat!"

They certainly do. It's like every show is full of fun surprises. Like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)
The band has tour dates scheduled this summer all the way into January of 2026, so be sure to take in a show if you can. You never know... you might get lucky and hear them play a real doozie.
And just for your listening pleasure and for old time's sake...
Side note. Yes, that's Justin Chambers from Grey's Anatomy in this video. Who knew?! I had never noticed that before watching it just now.
