International DCU TV Shows Get New Info

DC Studios’ upcoming international DCU TV projects have finally received a major update, after co-CEO James Gunn recently announced the said projects’ ongoing development. This comes ahead of Superman’s long-awaited theatrical release, which will kick off the DC Universe‘s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters phase.
What is the new update for the international DCU TV shows?
Recently, Gunn confirmed that DC Studios has started developing TV projects which will take place in other countries including, Korea, Japan, and Brazil. The first information about these untitled DCU shows have been revealed in a new report, teasing what to expect from these type of projects.
According to Nexus Point News, these upcoming DCU shows will take place in an international setting, where the cast will be mostly composed of actors from its respective country. In addition, each project’s creative team will also be comprised of local creatives. The story is also being written and spoken in that country’s respective language. Even though the characters that will be introduced in these shows will be speaking their native language, they are expected to appear in the studio’s English-language projects. The outlet’s sources stressed that some of these TV projects will be animated.
One of the international DCU TV shows will reportedly center around fan-favorite hero Huntress. It is rumored that Guardians of the Galaxy star Pom Klementieff has been enlisted to portray a new iteration of the DC hero, who will be introduced as a half-Korean and half-Italian Helena Bertinelli. The most recent live-action adaptation of the character was portrayed by Mary Elizabeth Winstead in 2020’s Birds of Prey.
