Jackson's performance back in May at the American Music Awards was her first public performance in seven years. With 50 years of making music under her belt, it's safe to say people were eager to see her back on the stage. She also received the ICON Award at the ceremony.

"I love you so much," Jackson said in her acceptance speech, according to PEOPLE. "I am so so honored. I am so grateful. I mean, no disrespect in any way, but I don't consider myself an icon."

She continued, explaining that it wasn't the Jackson family's goal to be famous.

"We weren't raised like that. We always had a special love for music, dancing, singing, and fame came with the result of hard work and dedication," she explained. "My story, my family's story, is truly an American story. This would have only happened in America."
