Guitarist Brian May, one of the founding members of Queen, is marking 40 years since the band made history at Live Aid.

Four decades after the 1985 benefit concert helped raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia, May was among a group of artists who reunited this weekend to celebrate the milestone anniversary with a very special event.

The iconic rocker, 77, stepped out in London on Sunday, July 13 to attend a performance of Just For One Day: The Live Aid Musical, reuniting with a slew of other artists for the special anniversary gala.

May was accompanied by his 38-year-old daughter Emily Ruth May, who is one of the three adult children the musician shares with his ex-wife Christine Mullen.

While showing up to the event on Sunday, May was dressed in a colorful ensemble, made up of a blue, purple and pink graphic jacket. He was also wearing a pair of simple black pants and white sneakers, while his daughter opted for a dark navy blue outfit and sandals.

Exactly 40 years ago on July 13, May took the stage at Wembley Stadium with the rest of his band members, Freddie Mercury, John Deacon and Roger Taylor for their now-iconic Live Aid performance.

"It made me very emotional at the time," May told Reuters while reflecting on the 1985 performance during Sunday's event. "Even thinking about it now makes me emotional."

"There has never been a day like that in my life," he added to the outlet.
