Little Steven rejoins Bruce Springsteen, E Street in Milan as Southside Johnny watches

Little Steven Van Zandt returned to the concert stage with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on Monday, June 30, at the San Siro Stadium in Milan.
Van Zandt had appendicitis surgery in San Sebastian, Spain, the rocker posted on June 23.
In Milan, Van Zandt came out holding hands with Springsteen at the beginning of the show before the band launched into “No Surrender.”

In related news, Southside Johnny Lyon was in the audience in Milan, according to social media posts.
“He’s looking great! So happy to see him! We love you Southside! (heart emoji),” said fan Sheryl Yaz on Facebook with a photo of Southside.
Southside retired from touring in December due to “health issues.” He, Van Zandt and Springsteen are the architects of the Sound of Asbury Park, which merged rock 'n' roll with R&B in the 1970s.
Van Zandt and Southside co-founded the Asbury Jukes together, and they were the first house band at the Stone Pony.
