Motorcycle Rider With Passenger Flees Police

All it took was a police cruiser pulling up to a red light behind a motorcycle for the rider to just take off. He was behind two other cars, but filtered between then and turned right, making it obvious to the officer something was definitely not right.

Watch a motorcycle cop chase down a fleeing suspect.

While this sort of thing happens more often than you might think, what makes this chase more unique is the rather large lady who’s riding passenger on the rear of that hog. That’s something you don’t usually see.

The rider does all the usual stuff to lose the fuzz in a police chase: running red lights, swerving, going ridiculously high speeds, and in general being reckless.

But for some odd reason, the motorcycle struggles to really gap the pursuing police officers. It’s almost like the thing is underpowered and/or pulling a lot of extra weight. In other words, the reason is a complete mystery.

Later in the chase, the rider struggles to shift the motorcycle for unknown reasons, allowing the lead cop to get right behind him, and then just ahead in an attempt to box the bike in. But the guy figures out how to use his motorcycle and slips past police.

As the pursuit continues, you can hear dispatch tell the officers that the suspect is headed down a road with a dead end. In most cases that would mean the end of the chase, but keep in mind motorcycles can often go where cars can’t.

However, this is in Genesse County, Michigan, not New York City, so the “dead end” just means the pavement ends and a dirt road begins. The man and his girlfriend blast down the unpaved pathway as police pursue, splashing through puddles, until the bike’s street tires betray it, sending rider and passenger tumbling into the dirt.

To the surprise of nobody, the rider turns out to be a wanted felon, explaining why he didn’t want to sit at a light with a cop behind him.
