Rising pop sensation Audrey Hobert recently opened up about her friendship with fellow singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams.

In a recent interview guest appearance on The Bru Show this past week, Hobert reflected on how their bond has grown over the years. She admitted that she and Abrams have been friends since Hobert was 11 and Abrams was 10, and they met at their fifth-grade graduation.

Joshua "Bru" Brubaker, the host of The Bru Show, brought up that Hobert and Abrams are roommates and asked the musician what she has learned from a person like Abrams.

"She's just so smart and so kind and so funny," Hobert gushed. "She's legit my best friend. I wouldn't be doing this without her. I've fully discovered songwriting because I was writing with her."

The two also co-wrote many of Abrams' songs in her latest album, The Secret of Us, including co-writing the international hit song "That's So True" with Hobert providing backing vocals. They also sang on stage together multiple times during Abrams' Secret of Us Tour last year. Plus, the 26-year-old singer also directed Abrams' music video for her song "I Love You, I'm Sorry."

Before completely venturing into songwriting, Hobert attended and graduated from New York University in 2021, then became a writer's assistant at Warner Bros. Discovery. In 2022, Hobert started a Substack, titled Audrey Hobert (in her own words).

Hobert has started becoming a solo artist herself. On May 9, she released her debut single "Sue me" and a month later, released her second song titled "Bowling alley." It is rumored that Hobert will be releasing her own studio album soon.

"I love that girl," Hobert said. "I owe her my life in many ways."
