Ronnie talks about being dragged by car on 'Jersey Shore': 'That was rough'

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro seems to be on the road back.
A road best taken inside a vehicle — not being dragged by one. Ronnie's brushes with the law and fights with his girlfriends, which included being dragged by a car driven by ex Jen Harley in 2018 in Las Vegas, were a running gag on “Jersey Shore Family Vacation.”
Until they were not. Ronnie and his castmates reflected on the bad old days on the Thursday, July 3, episode of “JSFV.”

“That was rough,” Ronnie said. “(The episode is) on and sometimes I watch it and this is some dark (blank). The devil's always in the parking lot.”
Ronnie claimed he was jumped at Lorenzo’s in Secaucus and given a black eye, also in 2018.
The roomies said it was his ex Harley who gave him the black eye. Mike sold “Greetings from Secaucus” merchandise on his website after the incident.
It was part of the turmoil. Ronnie was arrested twice on domestic abuse cases, most recently for suspicion of intimate partner violence in April 2021 in Los Angeles.

MTV said he was stepping away from the show to focus on his “mental health” at the time.
In his sporadic appearances on the show since then, Ronnie has been shown talking to his sobriety sponsor. He's been a full-time cast member on the show this season despite not appearing in the opening credits.
“I was just in the gym the other day and a guy came up to me and said 'I was just diagnosed with cancer — seeing you here gives me motivation,' ” Ronnie said. “How do I give you motivation? But it’s just it crazy how we affect people in so many ways.

Ronnie was previously shown last year on the show talking to patients at the Vanity Wellness Center in Los Angeles, owned by former Laker and “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star Lamar Odom.
“I think that's the next step in his recovery because when you go around telling everybody you're on the right path, you got to stay on the right path,” said DJ Pauly DelVecchio. “He's taking accountability and he's helping himself while he's helping others.”
That's something to jump for joy for — and Ronnie did jump when prodded by Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi in Cape May, where the roomies have decamped.

Ronnie did a partial somersault to the bemusement of the roomies.
'For once in my life everything is really good — I'm getting my life back,” Ronnie, 39. said. “I got to make decisions for myself and Ariana. Now, every decision I make is about her.”
