'Sinners' Ranking in Rotten Tomatoes' Top 2025 Movies List Turns Heads

"Sinners" is widely regarded by many moviegoers as the best film of 2025. Does Rotten Tomatoes agree though?
The box office has been dominated by sequels and massive franchises, but "Sinners" managed to win over the public's support from the moment it released in theaters on April 18. Although it had a $100 million budget, Warner Bros. Pictures quickly got its movie back. Ryan Coogler's thriller set in the 1930s grossed $365.7 million worldwide.
When it was all said and done, "Sinners" finished its theatrical run as the highest-grossing original film of the 2020s. As for its Rotten Tomatoes score, 97% of the reviews from critics were positive.

Despite all the praise "Sinners" received this past spring, Rotten Tomatoes doesn't have it as the highest-graded movie of 2025. In fact, it's ranked No. 8 heading into the middle of July.
Here are the 2025 films ranked ahead of "Sinners," according to Rotten Tomatoes:
On Becoming a Guinea Fowl (100%)
Eephus (100%)
Caught by the Tides (98%)
Pavements (96%)
Vulcanizadora (98%)
Familiar Touch (98%)
Black Dog (98%)

"Sinners" is available to stream on HBO Max, formerly known as Max. Fans of the film can also purchase a 4K Ultra HD copy.
