‘The Pitt’: Tracy Ifeachor Not Returning as Heather Collins for Season 2


Tracy Ifeachor, who played Dr. Heather Collins in Season 1 of “The Pitt,” will not return for Season 2.
Sources tell Variety that the decision was made by the show’s creative team; Ifeachor is not leaving “The Pitt” of her own accord.

She begins the season pregnant, trying to start a family through IVF and without a partner. She tries to keep her pregnancy a secret from her colleagues, then miscarries. Afterwards, she discusses it with Robby in a scene that reveals that they used to be a couple, and that she got pregnant and had an abortion during that time.
Along with Ifeachor and Wyle, Season 1 starred Patrick Ball, Katherine LaNasa, Supriya Ganesh, Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez and Shawn Hatosy.
“The Pitt” follows a group of doctors, nurses and other staffers at a hospital in Pittsburgh. Season 1 was set in September, with each episode taking place over the course of one hour in the same shift. Season 2 will be set in July, following the same format.
On June 16, HBO Max announced that production on Season 2 had begun, with the season set to debut in January 2026.

Scott Gemmill, who serves as executive producer alongside Wyle, Michael Hissrich and Simran Baidwan, as well as John Wells and Erin Jontow via John Wells Productions. JWP produces the series in association with Warner Bros. Television, where the company is under an overall deal.
News of Ifeachor’s casting status was first reported by TVLine, Variety‘s sister publication.
