When Taylor Swift took the stage at the Tight Ends & Friends event at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville last week as part of Tight End University, hosted by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, it took many by surprise.
Swift attended the three-day TEU with Kelce, who’s a co-founder of the tight end summit along with San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle and retired Pro Bowler Greg Olsen, and she was all over social media as she posed for photos with fans and other celebrities like Kittle’s wife Claire.

And while Kane Brown certainly was quite the surprise for country music fans, when Swift got up on stage and played an impromptu version of her hit “Shake it Off,” it took social media by storm.
During Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Kelce’s brother Jason asked him how the Swift performance came about, to which the 10-time Pro Bowl pass-catcher admitted it had been in the works for a while.

“We’re in Nashville—she grew up in Nashville, she moved there when she was younger—and yeah, we had this planned for a while that we were going to have some fun with the tight ends, especially Tight Ends & Friends and all the evening events,” Kelce said.

“And sure enough, she’s so good with everybody, just people and making people feel comfortable and absolutely rocked the stage, yet again.”
Kelce’s praise for Swift caught the attention of several of her fans on social media, who applauded the All-Pro TE for never passing up an opportunity to brag about Swift.
“I love how he talks about her. He’s so proud of her & it shows 😭🥹” one fan gushed.

“I love his Taylor face…” one user noted.
“Him talking her up and giving us behind the scenes tea is truly a blessing,” remarked another user.
“I love when he gets all passionate and starts rambling about how amazing and talented she is 🥺 just so supportive and proud of her, and so unafraid to shout it from the rooftops,” another fan exclaimed.
