This story contains light spoilers from Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3.
Criminal Minds: Evolution is wrapping up season 3 on Paramount+, and we have to know if the BAU is ready to solve the case involving the underground network UnSub Elias Voit (Zach Gilford) started at the beginning of the reboot. While there's still some time left before we get all the answers, Zach did share his thoughts about his character's trajectory ahead of the finale airing on July 10.

While he naturally couldn't give too much away, the Friday Night Lights alum noted that Voit's journey this season comes to a surprising head at the end of the installment.
"I think Voit is more coming to terms with his past and figuring out how he's going to deal with that," he exclusively told us about what's coming in the finale. "He's trying to see if doing good now negates any of the bad he did before, or if it is all superfluous anyway."

This makes a lot of sense! Given how the show is focusing on Voit teaming up with the BAU in season 3, it's hard to imagine the character having a sense of compassion after everything he's done.
While Zach acknowledged there's still some twists left for Voit and the rest of the BAU this season, he noted that there's always something sinister lurking within the antagonist on Criminal Minds: Evolution.

"Even if he thought he would never kill or hurt someone again, there's parts of him that are still there. They could be manipulative, intimidating or getting angry about who knows what. But that ideal could keep people on edge and thinking, 'Is he going to snap or is he just losing his temper?' There's always a chance he could re-associate back into that character again."
As fans already know, Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 has seen Voit develop amnesia after being attacked in the prison he was in at the end of season 2. And while he's shown he remembers a few things here and there, he's had to work with the BAU to help jog his memory of the violence he inflicted. And as fans are discovering with the final episodes left in the season, there's still a lot more to be explored with Voit... and it may be more tragic with every memory he recalls for the BAU.
One thing is for sure: after hearing Zach's thoughts about the Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3 finale, we definitely need to tune in and see how this plays out!
