The Hollywood couple go way back, meeting for the first time in 2007 at a mutual friend’s birthday dinner. Shepard said he was caught off guard by Bell’s "unbridled happiness." He soon saw for himself her genuineness and was intrigued by her.

Jason Bateman even offered Shepard some encouragement to lock it down. "Jason was first to go, 'stop f------ around and marry Kristen,' " Shepard once recalled.
Aside from posting flirty Instagram posts of each other, the couple enjoys testing each other's competitive nature. However, they take it easy on each other during a game of pickleball on their driveway.
"Oh, it getsused, let me just say that," Bell, 44, told PEOPLE in September 2024, noting that they mostly play for fun and keep the trash talk to a minimum.
"We're competitive together all the time, but we're nice when we're playing pickleball," she said. "We're not trying to make each other break a hip or anything."
