Dave the Diver is crossing over to MapleStory on July 16 as part of the Stargazer Patch 2 update, bringing Dave, Bancho, and Cobra from the indie hit to the 2D MMORPG classic. Originally released in 2023, Dave the Diver has since become a fan-favorite title thanks to its unique blend of restaurant management and underwater exploration. MapleStory, the long-running MMORPG, is owned by Nexon, the same parent company that Dave the Diver’s development studio Mintrocket is now a subsidiary of.
Due to its live-service nature, Nexon’s flagship MMORPG frequently features seasonal updates, massive patches, and collaborations with other franchises to keep its massive player base engaged. Since both games are owned, at least in part, by the same company, a collab between the two doesn’t come as a surprise. Like MapleStory, Dave the Diver has had its own share of crossovers in the past, including Godzilla, Balatro, Yakuza, and many more.

Games With Great PvE Multiplayer
Players searching for a great multiplayer game with strong PvE content have a lot of options to choose from. These are the best out now.
PostsA MapleStory x Dave the Diver collaboration event was confirmed for July 16 via a YouTube trailer and an official blog post, which comes packaged alongside the v.260 update, called the Stargazer Patch 2. Dave and his friends will find themselves transported over to the MapleStory universe after falling through a whirlpool in their native world. To survive, they’ll set up another branch of Bancho Sushi and start diving for fish again, restarting from scratch. Native Maplers will become customers, servers, and NPCs for the castaways to interact with. Players will be able to participate in exclusive event systems and mini-games with special prizes.
MapleStory Announces Dave the Diver Collaboration Event in Stargazer Patch 2
This crossover will only see characters from Dave the Diver appearing in the classic MMORPG, not the other way around. The event is arriving for MapleStory Global (GMS). Additionally, the Stargazer Patch 2 is a massive update, not just limited to the collaboration. The Ride or Die event, last seen in v.255 in November of last year, is making a return. It’s a boss fight challenge event where players are limited to 20 lives per week against six bosses, with multiple difficulty levels and exclusive rewards. Additionally, the Hyper Burning Max event will allow players below Level 260 to gain a massive experience boost, allowing for power leveling. Best of all, MapleStory v.260 also updates the mastery node system, with 3rd and 4th job mastery nodes now unlocked for all classes.
CloseUnfortunately, this crossover with MapleStory appears to be a one-way deal, similar to the way characters from Dave the Diver appeared in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE and Revenge of the Savage Planet. Players hoping for more in-universe content for the indie hit will have to wait for Dave the Diver’s In the Jungle DLC, which, after the most recent delay, has been pushed back to 2026 at the earliest.
