Pokemon TCG Pocket Ad Casually Reveals Even More A4 Cards

AliaGames2025-07-285940

It appears that some Pokemon TCG Pocket ads have revealed even more cards from the upcoming expansion. Titled Wisdom of Sea and Sky, the set is confirmed to launch on July 30, as most Pokemon TCG Pocket players had previously predicted.

Shortly after Pokemon Presents, a massive Pokemon TCG Pocket leak revealed 14 upcoming cards, including the expansion's headliners, Ho-Oh EX and Lugia EX. The leak was apparently caused by a mistake that led to the entire A4 teaser trailer being published early. The newly revealed cards, however, appear to come from official sources rather than leaks.

As reported by Twitter account MAGIKARP, an unlisted video on Pokemon's official YouTube channel and an Instagram ad have revealed 13 more cards from the upcoming Pokemon TCG Pocket set. Highlights include Xatu, Wooper, and Magcargo from Gen 2, along with Heatmor and Swanna from Gen 5.

List of All Newly Revealed Cards for Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 Set

Vulpix (Generation 1) Wobbuffet (Generation 2) Xatu (Generation 2) Ledyba (Generation 2) Ampharos (Generation 2) Wooper (Generation 2) Porygon2 (Generation 2) Magcargo (Generation 2) Magby (Generation 2) Ambipom (Generation 4) Porygon-Z (Generation 4) Swanna (Generation 5) Heatmor (Generation 5)

Of course, these newly revealed cards shouldn't come as a surprise to fans, as it was already confirmed that Pokemon TCG Pocket's A4 will focus on Gen 2. Still, it's interesting to see the set include cards like Vulpix from the first generation, Porygon-Z and Ambipom from the fourth, and Heatmor and Swanna from the fifth. It is worth noting that some of these cards have already appeared in previous sets, though it remains to be seen if they'll spark any fresh synergies with their reworked abilities and stats.

One detail about the upcoming set that remains undisclosed is its size. However, as a major expansion, A4 is expected to feature over 200 new cards. This might excite collectors who enjoy chasing more cards, but it's likely to frustrate players who've been critical of Pokemon TCG Pocket's release cadence. Many see the constant additions as a barrier to completing sets and have been calling on the developer to slow down for some time.

Despite all the arguments for and against DeNA's monthly set releases, the game will likely stick to the same business model and introduce new cards frequently. Those looking to chase the new cards in the upcoming expansion should mark July 30 on their calendars, as that's the official release date for Wisdom of Sea and Sky. How these cards will shape the metagame is still unclear, though many believe they could indeed shake up the PvP scene, which is currently dominated by Sylveon EX and Greninja's alliance.
