Rumor: Another Xbox Console Exclusive Coming to PS5 Later This Year

LilyGames2025-07-284360

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could land on PlayStation 5 consoles by the end of 2025, according to one leaker. Xbox has made a habit lately of releasing its once-exclusive titles on other platforms, most notably the PS5, and it doesn't look like it's slowing down any time soon. Sony fans should keep their eyes peeled for a potential Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announcement later this year.

The rumor that MFS 2024 could come to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 first emerged in January 2025, following rumblings that Halo may make the jump from exclusivity, too. Neither Microsoft nor Sony has confirmed the news yet, but it's easy to believe in light of all the other first-party games Xbox has been bringing to other consoles. Fans may not need to wait too long for another franchise to join this trend, either.

Leaker NateTheHate, who's had a streak of accurate predictions lately, responded to Twitter user Owen Sanderson to confirm that Microsoft Flight Simulator was, in fact, coming to PS5. He also stated that it would be sometime in 2025, but that he didn't have a specific window. He suggested it may come close to the game's one-year anniversary, which would mean the PlayStation version could come out in November. Former Xbox exclusive STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is also releasing on PS5 in late 2025, so the end of the year could be a busy time for Sony users hoping to play Microsoft-owned games.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Could Come to PlayStation 5 in Late 2025

Releasing Flight Simulator on PlayStation would be a landmark move for Microsoft, but a sensible one. Bringing a title that bears the company's name to its biggest competition is a significant statement about its commitment to moving away from exclusivity. Considering how MFS 2024 was one of the best-selling Xbox Store games of 2024, though, it makes a lot of economic sense as well and it never hurts to expand the audience for a proven bestseller.

Beyond Microsoft Flight Simulator, leakers and industry insiders believe Xbox has far more in store for PlayStation users. The Verge's Tom Warren has said that Starfield could get a PS5 version in 2025, something NateTheHate has also confirmed. The long-standing rumors of a Halo release on PlayStation and Switch could still happen, too. While there are still a lot of unknowns, it's an exciting time to be both an Xbox and PlayStation fan.
