CD Projekt Red has good news for Cyberpunk 2077 fans still patiently waiting for update 2.3, as the studio has now confirmed it will be hosting a special live stream on July 16 focused entirely on the upcoming patch. The associate game director for Cyberpunk 2, Pawel Sasko, will be joined by Virtuos' lead designer, Adrien Jouannet, as the two show fans what's under the hood of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 update.

Back in June, CD Projekt Red surprised fans by confirming another Cyberpunk 2077 update was on the way. While development on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 is now full steam ahead, it hasn't stopped the studio from continuing to support the 2020 title, despite multiple assurances that there would be no new updates. The game's last major update came back in December 2024, and fans were almost certain it would be the final patch for Cyberpunk 2077. Update 2.2 added over 100 new customization options for V, a massive photo mode overhaul, and more.

As for what Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 update will bring, that is yet to be confirmed by CD Projekt Red. However, the good news is that fans won't have to wait much longer, as the studio has announced a new live stream for Wednesday, July 16. In a new post on Twitter, CD Projekt Red said it will be diving into patch 2.3 to see what's under the hood of the new update. The stream will be hosted by Pawel Sasko, who was formerly the lead quest designer for Cyberpunk 2077 and is now the associate game director for its upcoming sequel, and Adrien Jouannet, lead designer at Virtuos. For those who might be unaware, Virtuos is the studio that co-developed Cyberpunk 2077's previous patch.

Cyberpunk 2077's Next REDStream Will Be A Big One

Initially, CD Projekt Red said it would be releasing the next Cyberpunk 2077 update on June 26. Unfortunately, just days before the patch was due to be released, CD Projekt Red announced it would be delaying Cyberpunk 2077's 2.3 update. In a statement on Twitter, CD Projekt Red said it needed more time to ensure it was satisfied with the update and that it would be of a similar scale to update 2.2. The studio did not provide a new release date for the major content update, but with a special live stream now scheduled for this week, there's a strong chance that fans will be given a new release window.
