QuinlanGames2025-07-175350

Once Human unveiled the patch notes for Version 2.0.1, introducing new features, improvements, and events to the online survival game, available to all players on July 16. Ver. 2.0.1 comes on the heels of the Annual Version 2.0: Dreamveil, a major expansion released on July 3 that introduced a PvE scenario, the public test for the class system, exclusive events, and new cosmetics. Developed by the Chinese studio NetEase, Once Human is a free multiplayer open-world survival game that made a huge splash when it first released in July 2024, amassing over 230,000 players on Steam within the first week of its release.

While hype surrounding the title has died down quite a bit since then, it still enjoys a loyal player base and an active community that keeps coming back for more. Updates for Once Human keep interest in this bizarre post-apocalyptic adventure alive, bringing fresh content, balance adjustments, and new narrative storylines.

In a blog post on the Once Human website, NetEase announced the patch notes for the Version 2.0.1 update, which are set to go live on July 16. The most notable change in Ver. 2.0.1 is multi-mode support, allowing players to switch between the core survival mode of Once Human and the newly introduced PvP-focused RaidZone mode from the login screen. The same account can be used to access both modes, with shared character limits, cosmetics, and Battle Pass progress. NetEase also hinted at plans to introduce both cross-mode and mode-exclusive events in the future, mentioning that characters will be able to transfer freely between modes to participate.

Version 2.0.1 also introduces a fill-light function to Once Human's photo mode, allowing players to light up the in-focus character with custom-placed light sources, if needed. Additionally, new custom servers will be added on the official top-up page on July 18 at 6 PM (PT), while upgrade packages for existing ones will be available on July 17 at 9 PM (PT).

Once Human’s Wish Machine prize pool has been expanded with new rewards that will remain in circulation until August 6, which now include a new legendary gear set and two new legendary weapon blueprints. Version 2.0.1 will also bring back the Lightforge Loot Crate: Choose 1 of 3, allowing players to pull for Techno Stampede, Arcane Celestial, or Stardust Edge, depending on their preference. The in-game gacha system progression from previous Lightforge Loot Crates of the same type will carry over to the new version, including any guaranteed drops.
