Final Fantasy 14 players looking to own a house in Eorzea will soon have a big window to do so, as hundreds of virtual homes will be available throughout the week of July 21 in the game's housing lottery system. The automatic housing demolition timers used by Final Fantasy 14 were resumed on June 6 across all North American data centers, with a maximum timer of 45 days that expires as early as July 20 and 21 for players who have not logged in since then.
The news came amid a pre-patch lull for Final Fantasy 14. Since the launch of the Dawntrail expansion, the game's active subscriber base has trended downward as more players expressed their concerns and frustrations with the game's direction. In response to player feedback concerning the Forked Tower raid in the Occult Crescent, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida revealed some changes that would make accessing the raid much easier for pre-made groups of up to 48 players to access. Additional changes, including the addition of Viera and Hrothgar headgear, will arrive in Patch 7.3 and subsequent updates.
