Elden Ring Nightreign is Going Down for Maintenance Soon

CarsonGames2025-07-028620

Elden Ring Nightreign players may find themselves unable to log into the game on July 2, as it's going down for maintenance in preparation for a new patch. The co-op roguelike spinoff of FromSoftware's 2022 masterpiece is still making waves a month after launch. As an experience that errs more on the side of live service, Elden Ring Nightreign is expected to have a steady rollout of new Nightfarers, bosses, weapons, and perhaps even more maps down the line.

While set in the Elden Ring universe, Elden Ring Nightreign is quite a different style of game than other FromSoftware titles, despite offering a similar combat experience. The game brings three players together in Limveld and tasks them with leveling up as fast as possible over two in-game days before squaring off against a formidable Night Lord boss during the third day. Contrary to the original Elden Ring experience, Nightreign players dash across Limveld's landscape with great speed, as efficiency is the name of the game during each 14-minute day, pairing FromSoftware's signature enemy difficulty with a newfound sense of urgency as players rush to earn runes and level up.

It seems Elden Ring Nightreign players will need to slow down tomorrow, July 2, as the game is scheduled to go down for maintenance. Elden Ring's official Twitter account notified players of the downtime, stating that it would begin at 1 AM PDT / 4 AM EST and will last just one hour, promising not to prevent players from logging in for too long. Finally, the tweet cited the upcoming 1.01.4 patch as the reason for the planned downtime.

Elden Ring Nightreign Downtime on July 2

The game will be down for approximately one hour on all platforms, starting at 1 AM PDT / 4 AM EST.

FromSoftware has yet to divulge what exactly Patch 1.01.4 will entail, but players seem to have a list of things they'd like to see added or changed in Elden Ring Nightreign. One fan commented, asking FromSoftware to add a hard mode to Elden Ring Nightreign in which enemies have more HP and deal more damage. They also want players face two bosses at the end of each night, all while being able to level up past 15, which is the current level cap. At the opposite end of players' wishes, one fan asks for a Night Lord practice mode where players can get a better feel for the game's major boss fights without having to embark on a full 40-minute run just to see a Night Lord's moveset again. In all likelihood, part of this new patch might have something to do with the addition of the new Everdark Sovereign version of the Sentient Pest boss, which is set to arrive on July 3.

Whether FromSoftware posts Nightreign's Patch 1.01.4 details before or after this scheduled maintenance, fans will surely find out what's being added and changed at some point over the next day or two. Perhaps the much-requested crossplay feature will finally be implemented this time around, though FromSoftware has yet to give any sort of specific confirmation or timeframe on the feature.
