Infinity Nikki Leak Reveals Exciting New Region for Version 2.0

ThomasGames2025-07-014210

According to a reliable source, Infinity Nikki may be planning something exciting for Version 2.0 – a new region that eclipses Wishfield in size, as well as a darker storyline following the critique of the game's post-launch content. While Infinity Nikki took the gaming world by storm in December 2024, Infold's latest title experienced a major setback after the disastrous release of Version 1.5. From having a myriad of technical issues to introducing a heavily monetized dye system, Bubble Season sparked the ire of a once cozy community.

Many players and content creators called for a boycott of Infinity Nikki, with a fair few even quitting the game outright. As negative reviews kept pouring in and the player count continued to dwindle, no apology from Infold was enough to stop the bleeding. Version 1.6 was delayed for a week and ultimately released in a stable state on June 12. While it did not address the key issues of Version 1.5, the latest update was a much-needed reset for Infinity Nikki, allowing both players and developers to put some distance behind Bubble Season.

The next major patch is expected to be Version 1.8, which will introduce the housing system to Infinity Nikki. However, according to kkr_ro, players should instead look forward to Version 2.0. Whereas Version 1.8 will forgo adding a new map to Wishfield, Version 2.0 promises to introduce the Twinmoon Kingdom to Infinity Nikki players. This new region was previously datamined as a mushroom kingdom, and will feature giants, dragons, and a new Ability Outfit. In terms of scope, kkr_ro reveals that it will surpass Wishfield from Version 1.0, featuring diverse landscapes, new puzzles, and even the ability to ride a dragon.

Infinity Nikki May Feature a Darker Story in Version 2.0

One of the main critiques that Infinity Nikki received after launch has been its constant focus on childlike whimsy at the expense of darker elements teased in Version 1.0. Barring the Queen's Palace in Version 1.3, the constant festivals have fatigued many Infinity Nikki players. Thankfully, Version 2.0 is rumored to feature a darker storyline set in the Twinmoon Kingdom, where Nikki and Momo will find themselves in the heart of court intrigue. The upcoming region will have them confront a nefarious giant sect, and will even introduce a boss fight against a dragon. Moreover, the Threads of Reunion are expected to feature in a future story.

The leak also mentions that the housing system in Infinity Nikki will primarily revolve around building and decoration, rather than having a focus on simulating and managing a homestead. Assuming Infinity Nikki does not monetize housing, players should be happy with Version 1.8. For those who have chosen to step away from the game until Infold addresses Infinity Nikki's shortcomings, the best time to check it out will most likely be Version 2.0.
