Minecraft has revealed some exciting new features for its next game drop, revolving around Copper. The overlooked material is getting a revamp with new items to craft, but perhaps most excitingly, a creature that lost the mob vote years ago is actually being added to Minecraft.
Minecraft recently teased a new update to the game, getting fans talking. The teaser was a screenshot from the game, featuring the letters "CU," and a pop-up confirming that Steve had been teleported to curious coordinates that happened to coorelate with the atomic number, mass, and the periodic table group number of real-world copper. Fans quickly put the pieces together and figured that an update involving Copper would be on its way, and they were quite correct.

Minecraft Update Adding New Items Based on the Movie
Minecraft drops a surprising update, adding new items to the game based upon A Minecraft Movie, including one of its biggest memes.
PostsMinecraft has now revealed some of the contents of its next game drop. The Minecraft update overhauls Copper as a material, adding a new Copper tier of weapons, tools, and armor. The equipment is described as falling between Stone and Iron, giving newer players a higher tier to work with from a common material. However, there are some caveats, likely because the developers didn't want to make the material overpowered given its abundance. Copper Pickaxes, for example, have higher durability and faster speed than Stone tools, but can't be used to mine higher-tier materials. This should give players an easier way of mining the Iron they need to start upgrading their tools overall.

Perhaps most exciting, however, is the addition of the new Copper Golem. Copper Golems are miniature, but their stature belies their capabilities. Making a Copper Golem for the first time will craft both the Golem and a new Copper Chest. Any items placed in the Copper Chest will be taken back out by the Copper Golem, which will then attempt to organize the items into other chests where it makes sense. For example, if the Copper Golem comes across an item in the Copper Chest and there's a stack of the same item in another chest elsewhere in the area, the Golem will relocate the item to that stack. This should be a huge help to players who struggle to organize their materials and tools.
For now, this content is only available in the Beta and Preview versions of Bedrock Minecraft. However, a Java Snapshot is in the works and should arrive soon. Players are encouraged to share feedback and any bugs encountered with the team. It's not known when these additions will arrive in the standard game, so players who are eager to try it out should check out the Bedrock Beta or Preview.
