Is Nintendo's console about to get Microsoft's biggest game?
Hours in advance of Nintendo's anticipated Nintendo Direct announcement livestream, Minecraft Wii U Edition has popped up on the website of PEGI, Europe's game content ratings association. The game's release date is listed as November 12, 2015.
This doesn't necessarily mean Wii U is getting Minecraft, or that Nintendo will announce it tomorrow if it is. This could be an error on PEGI's part, a database malfunction... who knows? But the timing is certainly suspicious.
Microsoft acquired Minecraft maker Mojang last year in a $2.5 billion deal, but the game continues to be sold for rival platforms such as Sony's PlayStation machines.
The Nintendo Direct presentation, which promises new news about upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games, is on for 2 p.m. Pacific Thursday.
