The beloved monster-catching franchise has long inspired fans with its wide cast of unique creatures, with over 1,000 Pokemon added throughout the life of the series. Pokemon fans have created everything from designs for new Pokemon and evolutions to real-world projects like apparel and even home furnishings based on the franchise. Now, one fan is showing off their unusual craft project for a classic Pokemon.
Dratini serves as one of the Pokemon franchise's earliest additions to the fearsome Dragon type, serving as one of only three Dragon Pokemon in the original 151 creatures. The Dratini evolution line was among the first "pseudo-legendary" Pokemon, with Dratinis extremely difficult to find in Kanto and Dragonite being a powerful final evolution. The classic Dragon Pokemon has often been an inspiration for fan creations, like one fan's miniature wood carving of Dratini. A fan of Pokemon has now crafted a stunning puppet design around Dratini.

The puppet is specially built to make it look like the Dratini is resting on their shoulders, utilizing their right hand and arm to control Dratini's upper neck and head. The impressive Dratini puppet even features an attached fake arm, intending to make it look like the Dratini is moving entirely on its own atop the Reddit user's shoulders. The Dratini cosplay puppet is not the creator's first Pokemon project, previously building a Pidgeotto animatronic that won a cosplay award at a convention.

The amazing Dratini creation saw plenty of praise from fans in the replies to the post, alongside some suggestions for making the cosplay appear more lifelike. Many fans suggested improving the fake arm as the next major step for the cosplay, with some suggesting the user should fill out the arm while others claimed he should wear a long-sleeved shirt. Some also theorized that a squeaking device would help to give the Dratini more realism, with one fan even suggesting using a digitizer to play Dratini's in-game cry.
