Ready or Not has been facing some controversies ahead of its console release, but the data shows that the game’s popularity remains unaffected.
Developed by VOID Interactive, released in 2021 in early access and reaching its 1.0 version in 2023, Ready or Not is a popular tactical FPS set in the fictional American city of Los Suenos. Earlier this year, however, Ready or Not was review bombed, as many players were unhappy with some new content changes brought to the game. In order to get the certification to release the previously PC-only title on consoles, VOID Interactive had to remove nudity, tone down the gore, and change some controversial scenes in the FPS, such as NPCs overdosing, and the community was not happy about this.

As spotted by PC Gamer, Ready or Not recently peaked at 17,269 simultaneous players on Steam on July 6, as the game seems to be facing player growth since June 26, when it had just below 6,000 gamers. These high numbers coincide with the Steam Summer Sale, as many gamers likely purchased the FPS with a 50% discount and started playing. Ready or Not: Digital Deluxe Edition is also currently sitting at the top spot of PlayStation's pre-order list, indicating that the title will likely sell on consoles, too.
