Roblox Grow a Garden Dinosaur Update Is Perfectly Timed With Jurassic World Rebirth

Roblox players can jump into a new dinosaur-themed Grow a Garden update starting today, July 5. The prehistoric content drop is near-perfectly timed with Jurassic World Rebirth, which hit the silver screens earlier this month.
Grow a Garden is one of the biggest Roblox success stories of 2025. Initially created by a solo teenager, it launched in late March and went on to become the first-ever Roblox game with over 5 million concurrent players—a record it has since quadrupled. Roblox specialist Splitting Point Studios bought a minority stake in the game in April and has been co-developing it ever since. The Florida-based Do Big Studios also acquired a minor share of the game sometime later.

Posts 26On July 5, Grow a Garden launched the Prehistoric Update, its previously announced dinosaur expansion. The content drop introduces dinosaur pets, unique seeds, and a variety of event-driven content, including weekly rewards and hourly quests that incentivize Grow a Garden players to keep returning to the game on a regular basis.
Grow a Garden's Dinosaur Update Introduces New Best Crop
CloseAmong the highlights of the update is the Bone Blossom Seed, launched as part of Grow a Garden's quest rewards. With an astonishing base value of 175,000 Sheckles, Bone Blossom is now the most valuable crop in the game. It nets between five and six fruits per harvest cycle, so although it's not as prolific as Candy Blossom, the value of its harvests tends to be around 10% higher on average, somewhere in the ballpark of 875,000 Sheckles.
The new content drop also reintroduces some seeds that were pulled with the arrival of the Grow a Garden Summer update in late June 2025. The Summer Seeds themselves haven't been completely removed, either, but they can no longer be purchased from the Seed Shop. As for dinosaurs, they have been implemented in the form of pet-swapping rewards. The move marks the first time Grow a Garden players can transform pets into something new, rather than simply trading them for additional item slots. New pet additions include the T-Rex and Brontosaurus. The update also introduces several secret weather events and a lobby event called Sandstorm, which can trigger the Sandy mutation, granting a 3x multiplier to affected crops.
The dinosaur-themed event has reached the popular Roblox game mere days after Jurassic World Rebirth premiered in the U.S. Its timing may not be a coincidence, but a strategic effort to capitalize on the interest in the latest Hollywood blockbuster, which earned over $318 million at the box office within five days of its July 3 debut, according to estimates from Universal Pictures.
